Who we are
We Fix It is the trading name of Leicester We Fix It Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (number 12464534) with its registered office at 9a Leicester Road, Blaby, Leicester LE8 4GR. We repair electronic devices and sell pre-owned ones. Contact details are in the site footer.
What we collect
The name, email address, phone number and device details you give us when you book a repair, and the email address, name, delivery address and order history you give us when you buy or make an account. If you book a repair we keep a record of the fault, the work done and the parts used, so the warranty can be honoured.
Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment provider. We never see or store them. Where you pay in the shop, the card details stay with the card terminal and never reach this website.
Why
To diagnose and carry out repairs, to contact you about a quote or a device that is ready, to take payment, to fulfil and deliver orders, to handle returns and warranty claims, and (only if you opt in) to send you stock alerts.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data or ask us to delete it at any time from your account page under Privacy, or by contacting the shop. We keep the financial record of completed orders and repairs for as long as UK tax law requires, with your personal details removed.
Analytics
We keep our own count of page views that uses no cookies at all. It records the page address, the domain of the site you came from, and a one-way fingerprint of your IP address and browser that is regenerated every day, so visits cannot be linked from one day to the next and cannot be traced back to you.
Google Analytics
We do not load it unless you accept it on the cookie banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, no Google script is requested and no analytics cookies are set. If you accept, Google Analytics 4 loads and sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by our measurement ID, which last up to two years and let Google recognise a returning browser. Google acts as our processor and your data may be processed outside the UK under the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses. We do not currently run any advertising or social media trackers; if that changes it will sit behind the same consent.
What is stored on your device
A consent cookie recording your choice on the banner, kept 180 days. A basket cookie so your basket survives a page reload, kept 30 days. Sign-in cookies, if you have an account, so you stay signed in. Your recently viewed and saved items, which are held in your browser only and are never sent to us. The two Google cookies above, only if you accepted analytics. Everything except the Google cookies is needed for the site to work and is not used to track you.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer. It clears your choice and shows the banner again, and declining stops the Google script loading on the next page you open.
